Toukir Ahmed is currently working as a lecturer in the department of Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE) at Rajshahi University of Engineering & technology (RUET). He started his undergraduate studies in Industrial & Production Engineering at RUET and completed his Bachelor of Science from the same stream standing first class first with honors. For his excellent academic performance, he was selected Student of the year in his department. He was awarded prestigious  President Gold Medal at the 5th Convocation of RUET.

He started his professional career as a Project Engineer at Robi Axiata Limited. Then he joined as a lecturer in the department of Mechanical & Production Engineering (MPE) at Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology. His research interest includes Advanced Manufacturing Process, Machining Parameters Optimization, Industry 4.0, Green Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, Machine Learning. He participated in different conferences inside and outside of the country. One of his research paper won Best Track Paper Award in the International Conference on Industrial Engineering & Operations Management organized by IEOM Society International.

Apart from concentrating on studies, he had reasonable space for extracurricular activities through his entire university life. He was the vice president of RUET IPE Club and Photographic society of RUET (PSR). Currently he is working as an advisor of PSR.
